At MySkyTrip, we understand that travel plans may change. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be issued for flight bookings made through our platform.

Important: As a booking intermediary, MySkyTrip is subject to the refund policies of individual airlines. We facilitate refund requests but cannot guarantee refunds beyond what the airline permits.

2. Refund Eligibility

2.1 Airline-Initiated Cancellations

If an airline cancels your flight, you are generally entitled to a full refund, including:

  • Full ticket price
  • Taxes and fees
  • MySkyTrip service fees (if applicable)
2.2 Customer-Initiated Cancellations

Refund eligibility for customer-initiated cancellations depends on:

  • The fare type purchased (refundable vs. non-refundable)
  • The airline's specific cancellation policy
  • The timing of the cancellation request
  • Any applicable cancellation fees
2.3 24-Hour Cancellation Window

Many airlines offer a 24-hour grace period for cancellations. If you cancel within 24 hours of booking and your departure is at least 7 days away, you may be eligible for a full refund.

3. Non-Refundable Items

The following items are typically non-refundable:

  • MySkyTrip service fees and booking charges
  • Non-refundable fare tickets (as per airline policy)
  • Seat selection fees
  • Baggage fees
  • Special meal requests
  • Travel insurance (subject to insurance provider policy)

4. Refund Process

Step 1: Submit Refund Request

Step 2: Review and Processing

We will review your request and contact the airline on your behalf. Processing time typically takes:

  • Initial review: 1-2 business days
  • Airline confirmation: 5-7 business days
Step 3: Refund Issuance

Once approved by the airline, refunds will be processed to your original payment method within:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 7-14 business days
  • Bank Transfers: 10-21 business days

5. Partial Refunds

In some cases, you may be eligible for a partial refund:

  • Schedule Changes: If the airline makes a significant schedule change, you may receive a partial refund or credit
  • Unused Segments: For multi-leg journeys, unused portions may be refundable (subject to airline policy)
  • Downgrade: If you're moved to a lower cabin class, you're entitled to a partial refund of the fare difference

6. Travel Credits and Vouchers

Instead of a monetary refund, some airlines may offer:

  • Travel credits for future bookings
  • Vouchers with extended validity
  • Waiver of change fees for rebooking

These alternatives are subject to airline policies and may have expiration dates or usage restrictions.

7. Force Majeure Events

In cases of extraordinary circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics), refund policies may be subject to:

  • Government regulations and travel restrictions
  • Special airline policies for affected routes
  • Extended processing times

We will work diligently to assist you during such events and keep you informed of all available options.

You can track the status of your refund request by:

  • Logging into your MySkyTrip account
  • Checking your email for status updates

9. Disputed Refunds

If you believe you were incorrectly denied a refund:

  • We will review your case and the airline's decision
  • If necessary, we will escalate to airline management
  • You may also contact your card issuer for a chargeback

  • Refund timelines may vary based on payment method and banking processes
  • Currency exchange rates at the time of refund may differ from the original booking
  • Some airlines charge cancellation or processing fees
  • Refunds are processed in the original currency of payment (ZAR)
